Adult Medical Day Care

Adult day centers are structured, supportive settings designed to meet participants’ daily health and social needs and to maintain or enhance functional abilities. Participants can join group activities or classes, eat freshly prepared meals, receive health services or just enjoy friendly conversation with others.

  • Staff leads planned activities, such as music and art programs.
  • Transportation and meals are often provided.
  • Some long term care insurance policies cover adult day services, but recipients usually pay for adult day services themselves.
  • Before you contact a center, you may wish to print a copy of Adult Day Services Checklist, which provides detailed questions to help you evaluate and compare adult day centers.
